The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

I love reading. I am sure there are many people who like me have had periods in their lives in which they read basically more than they do now. I am at one of those points in my life. So much so that I actually try to dissuade my "I want to learn everything" boyfriend from reading so he can watch TV with me. Bad. Not Good.

I think as I have gotten older I just want to read things that are a sure thing. For example: I have a good dear friend (We will call him Joe, since his name is Joe) who is a VORACIOUS reader. His house is filled with books. He is also very particular about his books. When I am brave enough to borrow them, I actually prefer to use a plastic bag in my purse to house his books so they don't get their corners bent. This is a loving acto of friendship, since I think the best place to read books is in the bathroom. Anywhoo- Basically Joe won't read Harry Potter- because, drum roll...... Everyone else has read it. OF course they have Joe, the books were freaking amazing!

Anyway along that note, I am happy that I have started The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. So far, I am loving it, and approaching the series as I did with Potter, and various others through the years.

I am actually a little late to get on the train... so if you haven't had the opportunity to get on board...

Check it out and lets chat about our thoughts along the way. So far.... I wish I was Berger!

Starting a new blog

Every time I start something new I like it, I wouldn't have started it if I didn't already think it was going to be something I like. So far, I have loved my tumblr blog, but I found that ultimately no one would ever find me. And that was something I certainly did not like.

I can think of topics that particularly interest me: recipes, healthy living, pilates, weddings, slideshows, surprises, thoughtful gifts, community, elegant interfaces, lovable animals, skin care tips, ways to save money. I scour the web daily, and I look for the best tidbits I can find. I started the tumblr thing way back when I didn't think that what my ideas were really could help. But I have gotten older, and the breadth of my liked and reviews, and advice has certainly gotten deeper.

So hopefully, if you are my friend you will never read this post. I want to have my blog, my journey so freaking kicked off, that this lone little post is just so far down that no one ever sees it. Unless someone stumbles upon it, and wants to be my lone little encourager, I probably will have to forage out there on my own, to make a big ol' splash in the blogesphere.

It has to start somewhere.
